Martin Wild (born 1979) is one of the pioneers in digital commerce. At the age of 18, while still at school, he founded the famous online electronics retailer Home of Hardware (hoh.de) which became one of Germany’s largest online shops for consumer electronics. After having graduated from German high school in 1998, Wild studied business informatics and put his focus on developing hoh.de’s business. In 2007, Wild sold a majority stake in hoh.de to Premiere (now Sky Deutschland). However, he continued to work for the company as founder and CEO for two more years. At the end of 2009 Martin Wild decided to move to the USA for 18 months. In 2011 he came back and joined MediaMarktSaturn’s management team as Vice President Multichannel. Amongst other things he was responsible for the launch of Saturn.de while also serving as CEO for redcoon. From 2014 to 2017, Martin Wild was Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group, being responsible for the of the entire group’s digital strategy and transformation. In 2018, he became Chief Innovation Officer (CINO) of MediaMarktSaturn. In this role, he consistently designed new business models and formats, strengthened the company’s power of renewal, and implemented progressive innovations. Since October 2020 he has been the CEO of Organic Garden AG. The food tech start-up’s goal is to develop the nutrition concept of the future with healthy, clean and delicious food that is simultaneously good for people and the environment at the same time. Therefore, Organic Garden covers the whole food chain – with their own farms, products and distribution channels.
