The Department for Business & Trade (DBT) is the UK’s department for economic growth. It supports businesses to invest, grow and export, negotiates market access and trade deals, and champions free trade.

The Department has overall responsibility for promoting UK trade across the world and attracting foreign investment to the UK economy. It is a specialised government body with responsibility for negotiating international trade policy, supporting business, as well as delivering an outward-looking trade diplomacy strategy.

Its role is to ensure the success of UK based companies in international markets. It also works to encourage international businesses to look to the UK as their global partner of choice.
