Cookie List
Introduction
This cookie notice (“Cookie Notice”) is intended to inform you how we use “cookies” and similar technologies to collect information about you when you view our website, use our app and/or open our emails (“Service”). Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information. This Cookie Notice should also be read in conjunction with our Privacy Notice and our Terms of Use.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
“Cookies” (also known as HTTP cookies, web cookies or browser cookies) are simply small pieces of data, which are stored as text files on your computer, whenever you visit certain websites. They include an anonymous unique identifier and their typical purpose is to help sites remember particular actions you may have taken in the past. Information gathered through cookies may include when you have logged into a site, visited certain pages or clicked certain buttons and how you are using the particular website or mobile application.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Hyve Group plc) are called "first party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third party cookies". Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. advertising, videos and website analytics services). This means that the information about you collected by those third party cookies will be shared with the relevant third party. The parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites. Please refer to the relevant third party website operator’s privacy notice for more information about how they may use such information.
Other similar technologies we may use include pixels.. Pixels are small images on a web page or in an email. Pixels collect information about your browser or device and can set cookies.
How long do cookies last?
Cookies can remain on your computer or mobile device for different periods of time. Some cookies are ‘session cookies’, meaning that they exist only while your website browser is open and are deleted automatically once you close your browser. Other cookies are ‘permanent cookies’, meaning that they survive after your browser is closed and can be used by websites to recognise your computer when you later re-open your browser and browse the internet again. You can manually delete these.
We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential Cookies – Essential cookies are cookies which are essential for the operation of a website. Essential cookies include cookies such as login cookies and shopping cart cookies.
- Analytics/Performance Cookies – Analytics cookies, along with other information, allow websites to calculate the aggregate number of people using a website and which features of a website are most popular. This information is generally used to improve the website.
- Social Media Cookies – These cookies are used to personalise your interaction with social media, such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and YouTube. Such cookies recognise users of those social media sites when you view social media content on the website. They also allow you to quickly share content across social media, through the use of simple “sharing” buttons. Some websites may also contain features that enable you to use your social media account to sign in and create/maintain an account with the website you are visiting and to enable the website operator to store your content. This involves the use of cookies.
- Targeting Cookies – Targeting cookies (also known as advertising cookies) deliver adverts that are more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement on a website and help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. They are usually placed by advertising networks, with the website operator’s permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers.
